Will Car Magnets fly off the car?

We use a 30mil magnetic material (Magnum Magnetic®).  Magnum Magnetic® is considered the industry standard.  We have never had the issue of material not being strong enough to hold onto the vehicle and have been using this material for as many years as we have been in the business for its reputation and our success with the product, however please remember, in order for the magnetic material to be effective, it must be on a FLAT surface.  A lot of times people put them across a crease in the door which causes them to have a small gap between the car and the magnet which, in turn, will cause wind to get under the magnet and remove it from the car.

As for Custom Cuts, we normally do a rectangle or square magnet w/ small rounded corners which will deter this type of incident but we can never guarantee that the magnets will not fly off the car.   As we cannot afford to do R&D on Custom Cuts, we leave it to the clients discretion as to the feasibility of the design.

The best solution is to apply the graphic directly to the vehicle.  This usually affords a 3 to 5 year guarantee from the manufacturer of the vinyl that it will not to let go.

Also, we can also never guarantee that Magnets will not damage the paint on a car, so be sure and remove them often and wash the back side of them.
